A street in Oudeschild from the first half of the 20th century has been reconstructed on the outdoor terrain of Museum Kaap Skil. Time has stood still in the small fishermen cottages, the smith and the store.
Water came from a pump, entertainment from the radio, the laundry dried next to the stove and even the kitchen had a box bed (bedstee). With such limited space for an entire family, you needed to be creative. A visit to the cottages is a feast of recognition. So much has changed in less than a century!
