Volunteers are very important for Kaap Skil. Thanks to them, the open-air museum bursts with activity. They keep the old crafts alive and share their knowledge and stories with the visitors. Specially trained museum guides give presentations by the model of the Roads of Texel and Jacob Haafner's seaman's chest.

Paintings or other objects with a link to the maritime history of Texel are in good hands at Kaap Skil. A monetary donation to Museum Kaap Skil can be deducted from taxes. For legacies, the museum doesn’t need to pay any gift tax.
